An Ayr United superfan has hailed fellow supporters for attempting to make his "fairytale story" come true.
Charles Chibaala is on course to complete a Somerset Park pilgrimage after supporters launched a crowdfunder to bring the Zambian to Scotland.
Almost £1,200 has already been raised to fly the man from Monze to Ayr later this year.
Chibaala became an adopted Honest Man earlier this season after countryman Frankie Musonda signed for United.
And his passionate support of the club on social media platforms has caught the attention of fans based in Ayrshire.
United fans Ian McKinlay and Barry Cowan are behind the fundraiser, bidding to finance Chibaala's trip to Ayr in August.
Barry, who runs the Ayr United Fans UK and Beyond Facebook page, said: "Our main aim is to bring Africa's most dedicated Honest Man and all round good guy Charles to Ayr .
"Charles has been a fantastic asset to the group and works to promote Ayr United throughout Zambia.
"The most humble of guys who provides and entertains us with his great takes on all things Ayr United.
"The plan is for this August, where fixtures permitting, he'll take in two matches. He is beyond excited at the thought of setting foot on the hallowed turf."
Chibaala told the Ayrshire Post: "For me, it's one of those fairytale stories.
"Never in my weirdest dream did I ever think that I would travel to Europe to watch a football match.
"Most African fans only watch their European clubs on television. For me, it's a different story and this means so much to me.
"Seeing funds be contributed to enable me travel is so humbling. It goes to show how much love Ayr United fans have for the Club and their fellow fans, in this case, me inclusive."
