The NFL and PGA don’t often cross paths in the offseason. They did on Sunday.
Over the weekend, golf had one of its biggest matches of the year. Jon Rahm won the Masters at Augusta, Georgia.
In his victory speech, he gave a shoutout to Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz. Ertz sent him a text before the tournament started to encourage Rahm.
It turned out to be a jinx, Rahm said.
Check out what he said about Ertz’ jinxing text.

“He sent a text and I’m going to paraphrase here, but it said, ‘that first green looking like a walk in the park,’ or something like that, 10 minutes before a four-putted to start the tournament” Rahm explained. “So, thank you Zach, Don’t ever do that again, please.”
Ertz was unapologetic.
He responded on Twitter after seeing the video.
I apologize for absolutely nothing!
You can expect these texts every major going forward my friend!

J.J. Watt confirmed the story. Apparently, Ertz and Watt are in a group chat with Rahm and also golf with him from time to time.
Watt had the receipts, sharing the text that Rahm referenced.
can confirm.
I think this means you deserve a green jacket @ZERTZ_86 #TheMasters https://t.co/RnWGkSwzcD pic.twitter.com/3ZJVAHtSMN

Watt, though, thinks that Ertz should also get a green jacket for basically sending Rahm off to the win to kick things off.
Not a bad weekend for both Ertz and Rahm.
