LONDON, November 2025 – Linda (Yueling) Lai’s award-winning caregiving interface AlzCare was recently exhibited at ‘Edge of Now’, an international group show hosted by The Holy Art gallery in London. Held from October 23 to 26, 2025, the exhibition spotlighted contemporary works responding to urgent social and human challenges, with Lai’s screen-based design featured as part of the gallery’s exploration of innovation at the intersection of technology, empathy, and daily life.

Edge of Now was curated by The Holy Art, a London-based international gallery known for championing boundary-pushing digital and socially responsive work. The gallery operates in cities including London, New York, Amsterdam, and Athens, with a strong curatorial focus on experimental media, identity, sustainability, and contemporary narratives. Through regular open calls and global showcases, The Holy Art has cultivated a platform for emerging and mid-career creatives working across mediums—from generative AI to installation to socially-driven digital design.

Lai’s project AlzCare was exhibited as a digital screen-based piece that reimagines the caregiving experience for individuals supporting family members living with Alzheimer’s disease. The interface presents a thoughtful blend of intuitive user interface (UI), inclusive design, and human-centered technology—offering tools like a 24/7 virtual assistant, GPS alerts, care scheduling, and simplified user experience for people navigating cognitive decline in loved ones. The project reflects Lai’s broader goal of using design to deliver emotional relief and logistical clarity in health-adjacent environments.
Earlier in 2025, AlzCare earned the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, with the jury recognizing its “union of empathy and real-world usability.” The app was also profiled by Sustainability Times, which described it as “an emotionally intelligent design solution for an aging world.” It is the latest in a series of award-winning works by Lai, whose projects often blend eastern design aesthetics, inclusive systems thinking, and social purpose.

Based in California, Yueling Lai is a Senior Product Designer at TikTok, where she has led major product experiences in business and advertising platforms that empower small businesses' growth. Her work has previously earned accolades from the A’ Design Award, the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), and the Red Dot Design Award. She is also the lead interaction designer behind XYG Window, a cross-cultural interface and visual language project that integrates traditional Chinese design with contemporary Western minimalism—another globally celebrated work.
Her participation in Edge of Now reflects a growing movement in contemporary product and interaction design: toward systems that prioritize care, accessibility, and cultural resonance. By bringing designers like Lai into dialogue with artists and technologists in a gallery setting, The Holy Art’s curatorial vision affirms the rising value of design that doesn’t just look forward—but also looks inward.
