A popular Ayrshire chef whose food found transatlantic fame thanks to an American Youtuber is setting up shop in Kilwinning.
Big Dibby - real name Christopher Dibden - became an online smash last year after professional eater Randy Santel took on his “big durty cow” burger challenge at The Buf in Prestwick.
A video of the US online star successfully munching his way through the mountain of meat in less than 30 minutes has been viewed more than 670,000 times on YouTube.
Now Christopher is set to bring his famous fare to Kilwinning after stepping away from his roles at The Buf and Skinny Malinkys in Ayr.
Food fans will be able to sample his grub at King Kone, at the town's Station Plaza from Monday, January 9.
Christopher announced the news on the 'Big Dibby's Kitchen' Facebook page and explained the reasons for the fresh start.
A post read: "Due to the rising cost of everything these days I will be down-sizing back to doing a take away from a new location where I get face to face with all my customers again, getting a laugh with youse and helping youse build the orders exactly the way youse like it, and getting time to get back to making some of my crazy creations again.
"I have had a great time working in Prestwick and Ayr and have met some great friends and folk even got to be YouTube famous with Randy Santel doing my burger challenge but with times being so tough just now, I simply just need to down size and get back to what I love doing most"
Christopher also revealed customers will be able to get a sneak preview of what's to come before the big opening.
He added: "I will be doing a live video this Friday of some of our new dishes we will be doing so hope see youse all soon."
And the news has already gone down a storm with hundreds of people commenting on the post.
One said: "Just round the corner from me, can’t wait to try your food.
Another beamed: "Yass big man, only a couple miles from me a will be visiting soon no had anything for ages."
