A young mum who killed her newborn son with an overdose of paracetamol has been locked up for five years.
Ellie Jacobs, 19, pleaded guilty to child cruelty and the manslaughter of five-week-old Archie Jacobs. A 999 call was made on June 5 2020, during the first coronavirus lockdown, after Archie went into cardiac arrest at a property in Biddlesden, Buckinghamshire, Luton Crown Court heard.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination found Archie's cause of death was acute paracetamol toxicity, reports Manchester Evening News.
