Riding your sportbike at the world-famous Nurburgring, and specifically on the Nordschleife, is a bucket-list item for many. With good reason, too; it's a beautiful track with both history and character, and it looms large in the minds of motorsports fans in general. If you love anything with an engine, honestly, why wouldn't you want to go there?
In 2025, the 'Ring announced that it would be switching up how it handles motorcycle admittance going forward, and said that the much-loved tourist laps it had previously allowed would be sunsetting for good.
While it did make clear that motorbikes wouldn't be banned entirely, and that certain moto-specific training and track days would still be scheduled, that announcement did still put a significant damper on the dreams of some riders.
Why? Because even though trainings are still available, they're pretty pricey. Now, if you have the money and the time to do it, the Motorrad Action Team's Nordschliefe Perfection Training has spots open for one- and two-day training in July 2026.
The skill levels available are Beginner, Ascendant, and Expert, and you're meant to bring your own bike. For beginner/ascendant (that's intermediate to most of us) level riders, bikes must have at least 48 horsepower to be allowed; for expert-level riders, the requirement is at least 80 hp. One-piece race suits are also required, along with road-approved tires that still have plenty of tread depth left on them.
The good news is that food and drinks are included with your registration, including one or two dinners (depending on if you choose a one-day or a two-day training session). But the bad news is, as I said, it's definitely not cheap. One-day training starts at 740 Euros (there was an early bird price that knocked € 50 off, but that deadline has already passed), and two-day starts at € 1,479.
You can bring an extra person with you to simply observe, but there is an additional charge for them (though they do get to eat and drink for their fee). For 2026, the available one-day dates are July 22 or 23, 2026; if you want to do a two-day Perfection Training, it's both July 22 and 23, 2026. Booking does not include either accident or travel insurance, which are available at an additional charge.
If you're interested, bookings are still open as I write this, and you can sign up here.
