'You can tell' - Liverpool defender backed for successful season away from Anfield

Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has been backed to enjoy a successful season on loan at Bolton Wanderers after making a promising start to life at the League One club.

The 19-year-old right-back joined the Whites last month and has caught the eye during pre-season outings for the Whites, assisting three goals on his maiden appearance to make an early impression.

Bradley made five senior appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side last term, featuring in three separate competitions, and is now set to be playing on a much more consistent basis at Bolton as they attempt to earn promotion to the Championship.

The Northern Ireland international will not be the only Liverpool Academy graduate representing Ian Evatt's side in the coming campaign, with midfielder MJ Williams also in the ranks. The 26-year-old joined the Reds at U14 level in 2009 but failed to make a first-team appearance prior to his exit in 2018.

Sharing his prediction of how he expects Bradley to fare during his time with the Trotters, Williams told the Manchester Evening News: "He is a great lad, pretty quiet but I am sure we will get him out of his shell.

“Out on the pitch you can tell he’s come from a club like Liverpool. The way we want to play here is front foot, so he is used to it.

“He is quick and I think he has got the longest legs I have ever seen on a footballer. I am sure he will be a great player for us this season."

Bolton boss, Evatt, has already provided his verdict on the immediate progress being made by Bradley and has been left impressed by how quickly the teenager has adapted to his new surroundings.

“All the due diligence we do on Conor and his character – I mean, you don’t get into Jurgen’s first team and you don’t play international football at 18-year-old unless you’ve got a really strong and good character," he told the Bolton News.

“Everything I have seen from him is exactly that, so we had done a lot of homework on him and it is proving right."
