You've heard of picking your own pumpkins around Halloween, picking your own Christmas trees at Christmas and, in summer, picking your own sunflowers to make the perfect summer spread. But seldom do you hear of the opportunity to pick your own dahlias.
However, one farm shop and cafe in the Vale of Glamorgan - which throughout the year offers the chance to undertake the latter - is launching a brand new event which sees its flower field on the Penllyn Estate filled with dahlias open up to the public to help you get the perfect Instagram picture or beautiful bouquet lovingly picked by you.
From August, Cowbridge's Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen will be teaming up with Rob Evans from nursery and garden centre Pheasant Acre Plants, who has also won 10 consecutive gold medals at the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show, for this event, which will see keen flower-lovers among us meandering through 120 varieties of dahlias.
