Yorkshire tiger attack victim’s family share concerns as inquest opens

  • William Chapman, 24, died from multiple traumatic injuries after being mauled by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster .
  • An inquest opening heard Mr Chapman climbed over two fences to enter the enclosure before being attacked by the animal.
  • The hearing was told Mr Chapman had a history of schizophrenia and had suffered previous bouts of psychosis.
  • His family has raised a number of concerns regarding his contact with adult mental health services prior to his death.
  • An NHS foundation trust has launched an investigation into his care, with a full inquest scheduled for 18 March next year.
