UPDATE: After this article's publication detailing reports of stalled trade talks from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, conversations appeared to pick back up with the latest reports indicating the Cubs and Yankees agreed on a trade to send Bellinger to New York later in the day on Tuesday.

As trade talks with the Chicago Cubs for two-time All-Star Cody Bellinger have arrived at a stalemate, the New York Yankees are shifting their focus to the free agent market as they look to bring in a new starting first baseman.
