Yankees’ Aaron Boone Offers Epic One-Liner About Juan Soto’s Moonshot Home Run

The New York Yankees traded for Juan Soto during the offseason, and the slugging outfielder is already showing why.

During a spring training matchup against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, Soto blasted a 447-foot home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to give New York fans a glimpse of what’s to come this season, and manager Aaron Boone had the perfect one-liner when talking about the moonshot.

“That’s how I used to not hit them,” Boone said after the Yankees’ 9–8 victory. “It’s amazing how much space he creates for himself. It’s just a really special swing. It’s a battle every time. It’s fun to watch him take an at-bat.”

During Boone’s playing days, he had a .263 batting average and had a total of 126 home runs over his 12-year MLB career. Meanwhile, Soto is slashing .500/.550/1.278 in seven games this spring. He boasts 160 career home runs after six MLB seasons.
