When Xi Jinping meets Donald Trump in Washington this week, there will be plenty to discuss: trade, AI, Taiwan, Iran, and the increasingly strange business of American-Chinese relations. According to first lady Melania Trump’s office earlier this week, there will be a truly stunning array of activities, too, ranging from an Armed Forces-led “arrival ceremony” and “military demonstrations” to an impressively coordinated flyover.
There will also, inevitably, be questions about how healthy the two men are.
