On Monday, Jim Harbaugh said the X-rays on Justin Herbert’s lower right leg were negative. Herbert sustained the injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Panthers.
When asked if Herbert had undergone an MRI, Harbaugh added, “I’m sure there’ll be further evaluations as the week goes on,” per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper.
Herbert said he got “rolled up” on the play. After being tended to by trainers on the sideline and in the medical tent, Herbert returned and did not miss a snap for the remainder of the game.
Herbert finished with 14-of-20 passing for 130 yards with two touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble.
“As far as Justin and all the players, we’ll have a lot more information on Wednesday when the injury report comes out,” Harbaugh said.
