The X Factor star Josh Cuthbert has revealed he was the victim of an attempted night time car-jacking, in which a thug threatened to kill him.
The Union J band member was pinned in by three men on motorbikes wearing visors while driving home on Saturday night, and the terrifying ordeal only ended when other cars came down the dual carriageway, he told his Instagram followers.
Josh, 30, said that after the horrifying experience he had a panic attack when trying to leave the house, and his "anxiety has been through the roof."
On his Instagram Story, the singer, who rose to fame in the 2012 series of X-Factor, explained what happened, in the first slide sharing a selfie, and then in white writing on a black background.
He said the incident occurred on an empty dual carriageway five minutes from his home.
He wrote: "all of a sudden two big Harley Davidson motorbikes came behind me."
"One of them came right into my lane and turned his bike sideways towards me. I had to do an emergency stop to not hit in to him."
Another bike then stopped right behind Josh, leaving him "pinned" in.
Two men then came to his front windows and shouted "Get the f**k out of the car, get out of the car no" again and again, Josh recalled.
When Josh responded that he wasn't getting out, they got even angrier and one thug started to punch his car window numerous times, while the other head butted the the glass.
The attackers were dressed in full bike gear with their visors pulled down, making the ordeal even more scary.
"One of them said if I don't get out the car they were going to kill me (that was fun)," Josh said.
He went on: "It was honestly so terrifying, I was trapped and couldn't move. I couldn't even find my phone to call the police."
About a minute later other cars appeared on the road, prompting the gang to leave, smashing Josh's wing mirror in anger.
A third person was behind the car and Josh said he thought the plan was to get him out of the vehicle, and leave with it.
The singer has reported the incident to the police and added: "I can't believe we live in a world where people think they have the right to treat another human like that".
He added the thought of the attack happening to his mum or wife Chloe "makes me feel sick".
Speaking and the impact of the ordeal, Josh said: "My anxiety has been through the roof since and I had a panic attack earlier when trying to leave the house. Physically I am fine but it's but it's been pretty rough emotionally/ mentally.
"I'm praying these people are caught and they can't do it to anyone else."
"Such a shame we share the world with people like that isn't it?"
