WWE star Ludwig Kaiser released from custody after arrest on battery charge in Orange County

WWE performer Ludwig Kaiser was arrested Wednesday afternoon, may 20 in Orange County, Florida, according to online booking records first highlighted by the Facebook page “Orange County Mugshots” and RecentlyBooked.com.

The 35-year-old wrestler, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, was reportedly charged with battery. The booking information noted that the bond was set at $1,000.

Orange County includes Orlando, home to the WWE Performance Center, where many WWE talents train and perform.

Shortly after reports of the arrest surfaced online, PWInsider confirmed that Kaiser had been released after posting bail.

What led to Ludwig Kaiser’s arrest

As speculation surrounding the arrest spread online, particularly on social media, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp addressed rumors regarding the nature of the case.

“The arrest is accurate. We’re told the battery charge was against a male after an altercation. Not a domestic situation as some are speculating,” Sapp wrote.

In a follow-up post, he added: “Kaiser was bonded out this evening.”
