WWE star desperate for spot on Great British Bake Off to wow Paul Hollywood

WWE star Sami Zayn is a huge fan of the Great British Bake Off and has revealed he would love to appear on a celebrity edition of the show one day.

Zayn, who is a three-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, is yet to watch the latest series as it has not begun airing in his native Canada, but says he wants to "crack a few jokes" with presenter Noel Fielding and have Paul Hollywood "judge my sub-par vegan banana bread".

Speaking to the Metro, Zayn said: "I know there's a new season going on right now, but I haven't seen any of it yet because it's on American Netflix, I'm in Canada at the moment. So no spoilers!

"But one day, one day I'll get on there. Me and Noel will hang out, crack a few jokes. Paul can judge my sub-par vegan banana bread or whatever it is. One of these days!"

Despite being a big fan of the show, Zayn has previously admitted his own baking skills could use some work. "I'd have to practice a little bit," he said in 2020.

"Also, being vegan I guess I'd have to wonder if I could use dairy products, or if I would use dairy products. I don't know – it would be very interesting.

"I know they do a vegan week sometimes, but it's few and far between. Anywho, I'd have to practice a little bit because I haven't baked very much – ever, actually. But still, it'd be awesome!’

Zayn wants to appear on a celebrity edition of Bake Off (WWE)

Zayn is currently involved in a storyline with WWE champion Roman Reigns, having joined his Bloodline stable as an 'Honorary Uce'. And the 38-year-old recently told Mirror Sport : "This is one of the more filled-out, long-term stories I've ever been a part of, and it's long, even by WWE standards.

"Usually we might do two or three month stories, but I've been aligned with The Bloodline in some respects since April and we're still only kind of scratching the surface as to where this is going to go.

"The initial idea was just to have some on-screen interactions every now and again because it made sense as the self-proclaimed locker room leader I should have a good rapport with the Head of the Table. So we were kind of cooking up that idea."
