WrestleMania is the show that every WWE fan looks forward to.
The grandeur and and pizzazz on show makes for a truly extraordinary event each and every year. The Show of Shows usually sees appearances from some special celebrity guests, some of whom have made a big impact over the years and this year is sure to be no different.
As the event draws closer and closer, WWE has shared the most shocking celebrity appearances in WrestleMania history…from Kim Kardashian to Mike Tyson. Here we take a trip into the past to look back on some of those dramatic appearances that will live long in the memory of WWE fans
Mike Tyson - WrestleMania 14
One of boxing’s greatest and most intimidating champions, Mike Tyson, made his WWE debut serving as the special enforcer in the showdown between Shawn Michaels and the soon to return “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, causing a media circus to surround The Show of Shows in 1998.
The Baddest Man on the Planet returned to WWE in 2010 as the guest host of Raw and later went head-to-head with Triple H and HBK to secure victory along with tag team partner Chris Jericho.
As a true legend in WWE history, it’s no surprise he earned his place next to the greatest performers of all time in the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame. But the question is, will Tyson return to the ring to commemorate Stone Cold Steve Austin’s return to the ring after 19 years? There’s one way to find out…
Bad Bunny - WrestleMania 37
Grammy Award-winning musician, Bad Bunny, burst onto the WWE scene when he made his in-ring debut on the first night of WrestleMania 37. Teaming up with Damian Priest in a tag-team match against John Morrison and The Miz, his impressive moves led him straight to victory and arguably set the bar extremely high for other VIP visitors.
At the end of the WrestleMania weekend, the artist threw in another surprise by announcing his 2022 world tour El Último Tour del Mundo. We’re sure The Archer of Infamy already bought his tickets.
Floyd Mayweather - WrestleMania 24
Before meeting in a no holds barred clash at WrestleMania 24, Floyd Mayweather broke The Big Show’s nose during WWE No Way Out in 2008. Lucky for him, the WWE Superstar knew he’d be in safe hands with the professional boxer ahead of the brutal stunt.
In an article with SPORTbible, he said, “I’d spent a whole year messing around the ring boxing, so I knew he knew how to break my nose without shoving it through the back of my head. It was a left hook, it was awesome”. In what became a historic WrestleMania match-up, Floyd Mayweather put his "money" where his mouth was, running his professional record to 4-0 with a shocking knockout of the 7-foot Big Show.
Kim Kardashian - WrestleMania 24
Along with Mayweather and Snoop Dogg, there was a strong celebrity presence at WrestleMania 24. In one of the most unlikely celebrity appearances in WWE history, Kim Kardashian surprised WWE fans with her role as the Hostess of WrestleMania.
Switching Keeping Up with the Kardashians for the wrestling ring, the reality superstar hit our screens to introduce the Money in the Bank ladder match, but was rudely interrupted by WWE Superstar Mr Kennedy who wanted to make it clear that he would win. It was CM Punk who would go on to win the match, and repeated the feat a year later at WrestleMania 25.
He is still the only WWE superstar to win the briefcase two times in a row.
Arnold Schwarzenegger - WrestleMania 31
As a world-renowned athlete, film powerhouse and politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger has achieved the true American dream. But the ultimate achievement was made in WrestleMania 31 in 2015, where he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
With a long history with WWE dating back to SmackDown in 1999, where he unleashed his rage on Triple H with a vicious punch, Schwarzenegger really did deserve this crowning moment.
Nicole Scherzinger - WrestleMania 25
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, Pussycat Dolls icon Nicole Scherzinger took to the ring to perform a special rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’ following in the footsteps of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Ashanti and John Legend. Before making her debut at The Show of Shows in front of 70,000, the singer told WWE: "I met a Superstar today, and he came up to me after my soundcheck and he was so kind to me.
“He said, ‘I've been here for years. I've seen Aretha Franklin. I've seen them all. If you sing like that tonight, I've never heard anybody do it better. It was really amazing. And I believe his name was Ric Flair." At this milestone edition of the show, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels produced one of the company’s finest ever matches, while Stone Cold Steve Austin saluted the crowd after he was inducted into the Hall of Fame the night before.
Ozzy Osbourne - WrestleMania 2
Rock and roll legend Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame just last year, where he accepted his honour via video link.
Dating back to the early days of the ‘Rock & Wrestling’ era in the mid-1980s, he appeared at WrestleMania 2 where he accompanied the British Bulldogs to the ring for their World Tag Team Championship match against The Dream Team. He also performed live on an episode of Smackdown in 2007, before guest-hosting an episode of Raw in 2009.
Pamela Anderson - WrestleMania XI
Pamela Anderson switched the sands of Baywatch for the ropes of the ring when she escorted Diesel through the stadium to his match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XI in 1995.
Clearly a lucky charm, Anderson, accompanied by Jenny McCarthy, watched from the crowd as he pinned his opponent and seized victory.
Diesel later invited both her and Jenny into the ring to raise his arms in the air which were proudly clutching his title as the Hartford crowd went wild.
