Even as India's top order has come up a cropper in the first innings of the World Test Championship final against Australia, their bowlers, despite their fine fightback on Day 2, too have been found wanting, as they allowed the Aussies to wriggle out from 76 for 3 to 327 for 3 on Day 1.
Australia's pace bowlers-skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Cameron Green and even off-spinner Nathan Lyon, looked far more incisive, dangerous and asking the right questions to the batsmen than their Indian counterparts did on Day 1. After stumps on D ay 2, pacer Mohammed Siraj, who bounced back superbly to finish with four for 108 to emerge India's standout bowler, defended his team's bowling show.
