Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney seem to be attempting to complete the biggest signing in EFL history by bringing five-time Champions League winner Gareth Bale to the Racecourse Ground.
The National League champions will play in League Two for the first time in 15 years after sealing promotion out of non-league last weekend. Phil Parkinson's men have won 34 of their 45 games, tipping Notts County to the title with the help of Reynolds and McElhenney's ownership.
Wrexham have already made a number of star-studded signings since the Hollywood actors purchased the club for £2million over two years ago. Paul Mullin opted against playing in England's third tier to drop down two levels in 2021 - with the striker scoring 74 goals in two seasons - before former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster signed in March.

Now, the Wrexham owners now seem to be setting their eyes on persuading Bale to come out of retirement. The former Tottenham Hotspur attacker put an end to his playing career following Wales' disappointing World Cup campaign in Qatar.
On Tuesday, Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney posted a video of Bale congratulating him on his success with the Welsh club. The ex-Spurs man said: "Hi, Rob. Just want to congratulate you on your promotion and everything you're doing at Wrexham."
McElhenney captioned the video with a cheeky stab in the dark hoping to convince the Welshman to come out of retirement and join the Dragons. "Hey, @GarethBale11, let's play golf, where I totally won't spend four hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season."
Now, Reynolds has continued to tease supporters over a potential blockbuster deal on social media. The Deadpool star shared a graphic made by graphic designer @Mutant101 with Bale in a Wrexham shirt alongside Reynolds and McElhenney.
McElhenney also took to social media to share the graphic, comparing the potential transfer as a 'Marvel series'.
