Wrexham co-owner responds to brilliant Notts County video after play-off joy

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney didn't hide his delight after Notts County secured a place in the play-off final at Wembley.

The Magpies came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Boreham Wood, as Aden Baldwin scored a late stoppage time equaliser. The game, which was sent to extra-time, looked destined to go to a penalty shoot-out, before Jodi Jones fired the winner in the 119th minute.

The home crowd went into raptures as they confirmed their place at Wembley against Chesterfield next weekend. Notts had a remarkable campaign, going head-to-head with Wrexham for the top spot.

Ultimately, it was Wrexham who secured automatic promotion to League Two, but McElhenney was pleased to see Luke Williams' side get an opportunity to join them in the division next season. Notts shared the commentary between BBC Radio Nottingham commentators Charlie Slater and former Notts striker Mark Stallard, as they delivered the incredible commentary to Jones' goal.

The American actor responded to Notts' tweet, saying: "I love football. Congrats Notts County!"

The final at Wembley will take place on Saturday, May 13 at 3:30pm.
