Worst street for antisocial behaviour in Merseyside

The following 10 streets are the most antisocial addresses in the whole of Merseyside, according to data released by police.

A Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted to Merseyside Police by the ECHO asked for a list of streets with the most antisocial behaviour complaints over a 12 month period from November 9, 2021 to November 9, 2022.

The data disclosed to the ECHO showed the location by ward and street name and the result of the incident log, all of which were open as part of the antisocial behaviour code. During this period, Merseyside Police received a whopping 18,433 reports of antisocial behaviour from residents.

People mostly complained - in what police categorise - as 'nuisance'. Thousands of addresses across the region received complaints from people in the area who were fed up.

Antisocial behaviour can cover a range of different incidents, from nuisance behaviour to noise complaints and fly-tipping. The address with the most antisocial behaviour complaints in Merseyside this year was Jennifer Avenue, Liverpool with 110 reports.

The majority of these reports were for 'nuisance' behaviour. Merseyside Police said there are a number of people you can contact if antisocial behaviour is affecting your life.

This can be the police, your local council Community Safety Department or, if relevant, your housing provider. Merseyside Police also said it is important to keep records of what is happening.

It said: "It is important to keep records of when and what behaviour is happening. Don't be afraid to tell one of the partner agencies about it and to ask for support when you need it.

"To help you and others, report antisocial behaviour, record it, look out for others that may experience antisocial behaviour and report it on their behalf."

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the majority of streets featured in Merseyside's top 10 for reports of antisocial behaviour were busy main streets, shopping thoroughfares or long roads stretching for a number of miles.
