Worried man finds gravestone under his house - and gets deeply disturbing warning

A man has been left on edge after discovering a gravestone under his house when clearing out rubble. He explained how he started carrying out repair and renovation work on his new home after noticing a build up of detritus under its foundations.

But when venturing under the property for the first time, he never expected to come back up with a new fear. Taking to Reddit, he said: "I recently purchased a home in Holy Cross, New Orleans. I found this under the house... warning for poltergeist activity."

The gravestone reads: "Alberta R L Perkins. Born 1900. Died 1978."

He went on to explain how he lives "nowhere near" a graveyard - and doesn't understand why somebody would stash such a thing under their home.

"The house was built in the 1890s - so it probably wasn't built over," he added. "Someone had to move it there.

"We were thinking someone replaced this marker with a better marker and just put it here.

"Still creepy as f***. Not something you want to find hanging out on your property."

While some users encouraged him to track down Alberta R L Perkins's family, others urged him to throw it away or be "haunted for life".

But in response to this, he said: "It stays where it lies. I ain't trying to have no gris gris put on me."

One user said: "You’re so getting haunted."

Another user added: "You want to see a Poltergeist? Because this is how you see a Poltergeist."

A third user said: "You never know, it could be a Casper the friendly ghost. Maybe you’ll get lucky, you’re about to find out."

One more user added: "That's a very perfunctory gravestone. Are you sure your house isn’t sitting on top of a mass burial site for paupers? Might want to be careful if you dig a pool. I’ve seen a movie about that."

It comes after a man's life was turned into the plot of a horror story' after discovering a mysterious door in his basement.

He shared how he recently moved into a new house and when exploring the property, he came across a 'hidden basement room'.

However, access to the room is blocked by a metal cabinet separating him from the door.

Taking to Reddit, he said: "The previous owners of my new house blocked this hidden basement room off with a shelf - the door does not lead outside."

After sharing a picture of the door on social media, the man was inundated with requests to venture inside to "solve the mystery". But he quickly shot this idea down, saying horror movies have taught him better than to open spooky doors.

He added: "My dogs won’t go near the door so I’m doubly not opening it.

"Horror movies have taught me that the questions posed are always scarier and more interesting than any answer I could get out of it, so that motherf***** is staying closed."

Commenting on his discovery, one user said: "This is absolute torture. How do you sleep at night knowing there's a door in your house that leads to the unknown? Round up a posse, live stream and open that s***!"

Another user added: "Obviously go through the door! You've got to see what's back there!"

A third user said: "Dude, you've got to open this door. Just make sure to live stream it. You know, just in case."

Although the door remains untouched for now, he did share his intention to one day open it and reveal what's inside.

He added: "It's truly against my nature to not open it but if my dogs don’t wanna go near it, I don’t wanna go near it.

"It’s probably nothing and I want it to be something so I want to keep that mystery alive!

"I’ll open it eventually I just don’t want it to be nothing. The mystery’s always cooler than the answer anyway."
