It's the fixture which truly makes an impact on the global stage.
That's no cliche when Celtic and Rangers lock horns and it is proven correct as the world media turn their glare to events in Glasgow once again. Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou was quick to note no trophy was dished out for the pulsating 3-2 win over Rangers, however, it's all but over with a 12-point advantage and only seven games remaining. Celtic will make it 11 titles out of 12 to continue their dominance of Scottish football.
But how did the eyes across the globe see it? On a day when there was five goals and Rangers and Michael Beale believed they were harshly treated over a disallowed goal - there was plenty for voices from Europe to South America to get stuck into. And Record Sport has collated the best of them.
Comutricolor (Colombia)
It was all about THAT no goal in Alfredo Morelos' homeland. They wrote: "The game was goalless after 20 minutes, when Alfredo Morelos received a cross from the right and, eluding his mark, hit the goal and sent it to save. The 'Buffalo' was ready to celebrate, but unbelievably had his goal disallowed due to an apparent push. According to the image, although it is evident that there is friction between Morelos and his reference Johnston, the touch was very subtle. Rangers fans are complaining that their opponent may have overreacted in the game. The truth is that they did not validate it and it was a key moment of the game, because at minute 26 Celtic took the lead with a goal from Kyogo Furuhashi."
Vavel Sports (Brazil)
Postecoglou is not waving the title flag just yet but this media outlet were happy to call their shot at the end of their live blog – Celtic are the champions in their eyes. They simply wrote: " Celtic win once more, despite Tavernier netting twice, go on to win the title."
L'Equipe (France)
The renowned French publication were all in on the atmosphere. They wrote: "In a heated atmosphere, Celtic won the Old Firm (3-2), the Glasgow derby this Saturday, thanks to a double from Kyogo Furuhashi and a goal from Jota. The Celts are within reach of their 53rd Scottish league title.
“Celtic remain unstoppable in Scotland. In a boiling Celtic Park, the Celts won (3-2) in the Glasgow derby - against Rangers - this Saturday and recorded their 11th victory in a row in all competitions. In full swing, Kyogo Furuhashi scored another double, when Jota scored his 11th goal of the season in the Championship."
G7 (Portugal)
And it's a similar story in Portugal where they are acutely aware Rangers must reset and dream of title glory next season. It read: "Rangers are now 12 points behind the Hoops with seven games left, with their title hopes on fire."
Sapo De Sporto (Portugal)
Staying in Portugal but this time it's all about Jota They wrote: "Jota helped tee up Kyogo Furuhashi, who had already opened the scoring, in the 26th minute, and, later, in the 73rd minute, scored the 3-1, taking advantage of a disastrous delay of Scotsman John Souttar. With this triumph, and with seven games to play, Celtic took a 'giant' step towards the title, as they now have 12 more points than Rangers."
DHN (Germany)
Another outlet focusing on the party to come as they name Celtic's Japanese hero a legend within two seasons. They posted: “Kyogo Furuhashi scored twice to seal a 3-2 win that put Celtic 12 points clear of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race. If Celtic's Kyogo Furuhashi wasn't already a legend ahead of Saturday's Old Firm derby, the Japan international is now. The title isn't officially Celtic’s, but unofficially the Hoops will claim a 53rd Scottish Premiership title in a matter of weeks.
"Saturday's lunchtime opener at Celtic Park marked the fifth meeting in all competitions between Old Firm rivals this season. Celtic went unbeaten with three wins and one draw against Rangers. What the fans saw was more the same, as Ange Postecoglou's team was simply unbeatable. The match was typical of all Old Firm derbies with a full house that challenged both teams.”
Keepup (Australia)
Yes, the Rangers captain was on the losing side but his efforts were noted Down Under as he reached a milestone in Glasgow's east end.
In their match report, they wrote: "It may have been a disappointing result but Gers captain Tavernier can at least take solace in reaching an impressive landmark. The Englishman’s second goal at Celtic Park was his 100th for Rangers, and though many have been penalties, there will be very few right-backs who can claim to have done the same for their club."
GOAL (USA)
They had a Star Spangled Banner take on events in Glasgow's east end. They said: “Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic got the better of Malik Tillman's Rangers to go 12-points clear in the Scottish title race. Celtic took down their arch rivals 3-2 at Celtic Park, moving 12 points clear at the top of the league. A brace from Kyogo Furuhashi led the way, as he was joined on the scoresheet by Jota to cancel out two goals from Rangers star James Tavernier in the 3-2 triumph."
