Another stirring night at Ibrox, another morning of stellar Europa League write-ups across the continent for the men from Govan.
Rangers are making a habit of hitting headlines around Europe and they ensured there was no ignoring them once again with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade.
The result puts Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side on the brink of the quarter-finals, should they hold out to progress in Serbia next week.
Red Star were made to pay for failing to convert a penalty and also had three goals ruled out by VAR, and that commanded much of the focus in their homeland.
Indeed, one outlet - Mondo - ran with the headline that Dejan Stankovic's side had won the game - according to one stat, at least
The headline said: "Red Star players, according to statistics, beat Rangers!"
Perhaps with tongue in cheek ever so slightly, they pointed out the xG (expected goals) disparity between the two sides and how it certainly wasn't reflected in the final scoreline.
They wrote: "A series of bizarre situations happened to the red and whites at Ibrox Stadium, where they were defeated, and according to advanced statistics, they should have won!
"The 'xG' parameter, ie the expected goals in the match that is increasingly used in football analytics, shows that the red and whites were much better than their rival last night.
"According to that calculation, the Rangers team should have scored 1.65 goals in this match , while Zvezda was expected to score as many as 2.4 goals . Of course, these numbers are impossible because the number of goals must be 'round', but that is the charm of statistics."
Sportklub, another Serbian outlet, insisted the result is all that counts and, for that reason, branded it an evening the Red and Whites will not forget in a hurry, for all the wrong reasons.
They wrote: "It could have been the starry night of the Red Star. A night that would announce the placement in the quarter-finals of the European competition. But instead this is a night that the red and whites will remember for a long time as a night in which they missed many opportunities and were severely punished.
"The result, which is the only thing that counts, after the first game of the eighth finals of the Europa League, is 3: 0 for Rangers and an extremely difficult task for Zvezda at the Rajko Mitic Stadium.
"And it all started like a dream. In the fifth minute, the Rangers' net shook for the first time, after a great shot by Katai from the left side into the counter corner. But seconds later a nightmare began that literally lasted the entire game."
Staying in Serbia, Informer noted the old "fortune favours the brave" adage didn't apply to Red Star as they saw their attacking endeavours foiled time and again by a combination of VAR, the crossbar and a certain Allan McGregor.
They wrote: "The Red Star players suffered a heavy defeat away to the Glasgow Rangers in the first match of the eighth finals of the Europa League.
"There’s that old 'luck follows the brave,' but that wasn’t the case tonight at Ibrox! The Red Star was a better rival in most of the match, threatened from all positions, scored three goals, missed a penalty, shook the crossbar.
"However, after 90 minutes of football, Rangers convincingly celebrated with 3: 0 (2: 0) and so came one step away from the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
"Nothing is over yet, the red and whites will have a chance to direct a miracle in seven days at Maracana, but the chances of the Serbian champion are significantly less after a poor result at Ibrox.|
Further afield, the Nigerian contingent at Ibrox usually ensures their exploits are watched keenly in Africa and the People's Gazette noted that while Red Star had that trio of goals chalked off, they rated all three as the correct decision.
They wrote: "Rangers won an extraordinary game in Glasgow 3-0 over Red Star Belgrade.
"It was a game in which the visitors had three goals disallowed - all correctly - for marginal offsides and also missed a penalty kick."
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side scored six over two legs against Borussia Dortmund in the last round and they're now half way to matching that tally after Thursday night.
US-based website CBS Sports gave Rangers a mention in their Europa League stats round-up, singling out the "prolific" Premiership champions.
The wrote: "Rangers, meanwhile, scored the most goals in a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Red Star to keep their prolific attacking pace going after defeating Dortmund by an aggregate score of 6-4 in the last round."
And finally, back to Europe, where the verdict of na:Temat suggests Rangers are really starting to turn heads in this tournament.
Van Bronckhorst's side are now "worth noting" as the competition reaches its business end.
They wrote: "Another victory for Glasgow Rangers is worth noting . The Scots dealt with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade 3: 0 (2: 0), although the visitors scored two goals in the first half. In both cases, however, they were hits from offside."
