The wheels are coming apart for Bangladesh, literally. A flat tyre and rush-hour traffic delayed the team's arrival for practice at the MCA stadium by more than an hour on match eve. This was a day after the driver of the team bus lost his way and drove eight kilometres ahead of the venue before making an about-turn.
Not that Bangladesh's Sri Lankan coach Chandika Hathurasinghe didn't have enough on his plate already. Their captain Shakib al Hasan is not fully recovered from a quad injury he suffered during their last match against New Zealand five days ago, although he played through pain in Chennai. And the batters and bowlers would gladly swap their numbers in the stats column. Hathurasinghe, a former Test and One-Day opener known for resolute batting style rather than flamboyance, couldn't have been more envious of his opponents.
