'World at his feet' Leeds United target Alex Scott backed to make Premier League move

Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley says Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott has 'the world at his feet' amid reports linking him with a move to Leeds United.

Bentley previously played with Scott at Ashton Gate before signing for Premier League side Wolves during the January transfer window.

Scott has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs, and even earned praise from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola following his performance in their 3-0 defeat in the FA Cup fifth round last month.

The 19-year-old has already amassed 86 appearances for the Robins, and has registered six goals and seven assists in the process. Leeds are among those scouting the teenager, who is also being monitored by Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Leicester City.

And Bentley has backed Scott to join him in the Premier League, with the goalkeeper jokingly urging his current employers to get the chequebook out in the summer.

“I think if I was asked, I’d say get the chequebook out. Obviously that’s not my decision, but I’ve got nothing but good things to say about Scotty," Bentley told students at the University of Gloucestershire’s BA Sports Journalism course.

“He’s an absolutely phenomenal player with the world at his feet, I’ve seen all the plaudits recently, he can go all the way and so he should because he’s a magnificent player.”
