A construction worker was rushed to hospital on Thursday afternoon after an 'accident' on a building site in a Scots village.
Emergency crews raced to the scene in Gorebridge, just after 1pm on November 3, after being alerted to the incident. Cops say a 31-year-old man was rushed from the site in Midlothian to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh for treatment.
It is understood a Health and Safety enquiry into the incident will now take place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15pm on Thursday, 3 November, 2022, police received a report of an industrial accident at a building site on Greenhall Road, Gorebridge.
“A 31-year-old man has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
“The Health and Safety Executive have been made aware and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Persimmon Homes spokesperson said: “We are aware of an accident that occurred on one of our developments yesterday afternoon and are working with the relevant contractor to ensure the authorities are fully supported with their investigations.
"Our thoughts are with the injured person and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.”
