Work has begun on the new pedestrian bridge over the River Clyde that will connect Govan and Partick.
The bridge will span between Water Row in Govan and Pointhouse Quay at the Riverside Museum, with the £29.5million project re-establishing the historic link between the two areas.
While people crossed the river at this location for hundreds of years, they have been unable to do so since ferry services ended in the 1960s.

A post shared on local Facebook group Acumfaegovan confirms that work on the foundations for the new bridge has gotten underway.
Once complete, the bridge will form part of a high quality active travel route between communities, academic institutions, businesses and visitor attractions on both banks of the river.
It comes after a petition launched back in February to name the new bridge after Billy Connolly recently surpassed 4,000 signatures.
The author of the petition notes that, having spent his formative years in Partick and then working as apprentice in the shipyards in Govan, it would be 'fitting' for it to bear the Big Yin's name.
The project is set to be completed towards the end of 2023.
