Women throw punches and pull each other's hair in brutal scrap filmed at busy junction

A viral social media clip shows two women savagely scrapping at a busy junction as confused drivers - some sounding their horns - attempt to pass by.

The video, which has not been reported to police, shows the women standing at a pedestrian crossing on Sparkhill junction in Birmingham as they pull each other's hair.

At one point one of the women starts repeatedly punching the other while a man later attempts to break them up, reports BirminghamLive.

The bust up took place in broad daylight and the footage is now circulating on Facebook, but it is not known when it was filmed.

Cars can be heard beeping as one driver attempts to get by at the junction of Springfield Road and Stratford Road while the fighting women block the road.

Reacting to the video on social media, many locals have expressed concern over a surge in antisocial behaviour.

One said: "I have stopped taking my children to Stratford Road due to the high levels of drunks and druggies on it. It is not child friendly anymore. Shame on our representatives for not taking any action."

Another wrote: "This is so sad to see - but rather than criminalise people wouldn't it be better to take a humanitarian approach? So many are living through difficult times and without money."

A third replied: "That’s the second disturbance around there within a few days. There was a similar bunch of people arguing and fighting outside Springfield School/St Christopher’s Church a few days prior in front of children and parents."

West Midlands Police have confirmed there was no log of the incident on their records and no investigation of a fight at the junction.
