Liquour prohibition came into force in Bihar in 2016 and since then there have been various arrests, complaints and raids on the illegal liquour mafia. But in a new development, the government of Bihar is generating employment for rural women in the state by encouraging them to make glass bangles from seized liquor bottles in an effort to reduce waste and also provide them livelihood.
According to a PTI news report, the Prohibition Department of the Bihar government has sanctioned INR 1 crore as seed/foundating mfund for setting up bangle manufacturing units with women linked to the rural livelihood programme ‘JEEViKA’ at the helm.
