Women are using a 68p item everyone has in their kitchen to get 'perfect sleek hair' instantly

If you've ever tried to put your hair in a sleek ponytaill or bun, or have just straightened it to perfection, you'll know how annoying flyaways and frizz can be. Just when you think you've absolutely nailed the perfect style, those little flyaways and frizzy bits creep up, and they're almost impossible to get rid of.

But people have found a cheap solution to get rid of flyaways instantly - and it's probably not what you think. People on Tik Tok have been using basic supermarket tin foil to give themselves 'perfect' hair, and can't believe how effective it is.

Tik Tok user @mariaaiellohair blew viewers away after demonstrating the hack. In her video, which has been liked almost 200,000 times, she shows how to use a sheet of tin foil to give yourself perfect, sleek hair instantly.

In her video she explains how aluminum discharges static. Because of this property, your hair will smooth down instantly after you run some foil over it.

The science backs it up, too. Static occurs in hair when it builds up an electrical charge (this is when it gains electrons due to friction or changes in its surroundings, like humidity). This causes the strands to repel each other which is what makes them fly away. Tin foil helps to neutralise the static since its metal and a conductor, it transfers those extra electrons away, helping to leave hair smoother, according to Glamour.

A roll of foil costs as little as 68p in supermarkets like ASDA and Aldi. So if you want perfect hair, whack out a roll of tin foil. It might become your new best friend.
