A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Dumfries and Galloway as police warn people to avoid the area.
Emergency services were called to the A77 at Lochans following a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at around 6.10am on Thursday.
The woman who was involved in the incident was attended to by the emergency services and was taken to hospital.
Her condition is currently unknown.
A diversion is currently in place and police have advised drivers to avoid the area.
