A 57-year-old woman, Dulce Pichardo, is bravely sharing her harrowing experience after being sucker-punched in broad daylight in Brooklyn last week. The incident left her with a broken jaw, missing teeth, and permanent nerve damage.
Pichardo recounted how she was walking home from work on Grand Avenue in Prospect Heights when a man suddenly punched her in the face without any provocation. The force of the blow not only broke her jaw but also knocked out teeth, causing her significant pain and bleeding.
Despite her injuries, Pichardo managed to seek help at her family's restaurant, where she informed her brother, Fausto, about the attack. Fausto attempted to confront the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Franz Jeudy, who denied the assault.
Law enforcement was alerted, leading to Jeudy's arrest on charges of assault and harassment. Although Jeudy pleaded not guilty, he was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in May.
This disturbing incident is part of a concerning trend of attacks against women in New York City. In recent weeks, multiple young female victims have come forward on social media platforms like TikTok to share their own experiences of being targeted by strangers and physically assaulted.
One such case involved the arrest of 40-year-old Skiboky Stora, who was charged with assault in connection to an attack on a 25-year-old woman on March 25. These incidents highlight the importance of raising awareness about personal safety and the need for swift justice in cases of violence against women.
