A woman has shared the touching way she will be remembering her late friend at this year's Grand National Festival.
Sharon Reid, 56, and Tracy Lauront, 60, have travelled to Aintree from Warrington for the first day of the races. Tracey, who plans to put £1 on every race, said "it's a special occasion" to create memories.
But Sharon also has a special request to fulfil in memory of her friend who died and whose funeral is being held today.

Sharon told the ECHO: "I'm looking for a horse because a friend of mine has passed away and it's his funeral today. He's a very colourful guy so I'm going to look for a colourful horse, and I'm going to put a bet on for him because I'm missing his funeral because I'm here.
"He was a very colourful guy, he always had his hair coloured. He was very colourful and he did a lot for charity so I'm doing it for him today.
"He was a lovely, lovely man and he will be very missed. I can't make the funeral unfortunately but his family have asked me to do a race for him and think of him. It will be a special tribute to him."
