A woman was left gobsmacked after uncovering a pensioner's obsessive notes about her nuisance neighbour at an estate sale. She explained how she was rummaging through "random boxes" in search for bargains when she came across five notebooks filled front and back.
Intrigued by the notebooks, she decided to buy them to read them at her leisure when she returned home. She said: "I found this in a random estate sale box - a pile of notepads full front and back with obsessive notes on the next door neighbour's every move. Meticulous detail - several times a day for years."
After sharing a picture of them on Reddit, users begged her to tell them more about the notebooks - and to share extracts from them.
One entry reads: "6:03pm porch light on. 6:40pm red car in front of garage again. 9:14pm weird musky smell? I’m not cooking…
"4:31pm I think they are arguing but it’s hard to tell because it's only the female voice I hear yelling. 5:19pm stomped up stairs THIRD TIME TODAY."
Another entry reads: "Heard music at 6pm played at a reasonable volume."
The woman added: "They were obsessed with stomping and 'musty' smells and loud noises and cars parking where they shouldn’t."
While most users sympathised with the elderly woman for having to live next door to "unruly" neighbours for so many years, others discussed how the note-taker's life could be turned into a movie.
Commenting on the books, one user said: "Please, don't throw them away! This is such interesting insight into this random person's mind. I wish I could write a story off of them, but I don't think I would write it well enough."
Another user added: " It seems like they suspected the neighbour of doing something shady as if these notes could be used when the police inevitably knocked on their door."
A third user said: "Yeah I'm nosey just like the note taker. I've got to know what all the neighbours have been up to. I feel like there's a mystery in here somewhere and I've got to put the pieces together."
One more user added: "Maybe they had noisy neighbours and never got any sleep."
