A woman's hack has gone viral for showing the world how to never slip on the ice again.
With the country currently under a slippery layer of ice thanks to the arctic temperatures, it can be dangerous - or embarrassing - to venture too far outside.
The best shoes don't have a grip hard enough to prevent a slip and slide here and there but one woman's hack has gone viral for helping people avoid a fall, reports Mirror Online.

Sharing the "genius" information on TikTok and going by the username of mels_family_life, the video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times.
During the video, the woman searches through the bottom of her drawers before removing two old socks which are vital to the hack. Putting the socks over her shoes to increase her grip, the woman was chuffed with her efforts as she was prepared to take the icy floors without the fear of slipping.
Captioning the post of her viral video, Mel wrote: "BEST (most needed) HACK atm in my opinion… socks worn over your shoes - to avoid slipping on the ice. Thank me later."
"So, this is happening right now - absolute game-changer! When it's icy, this ice is so so slippery, so wear socks and shoes. Game-changer."
Flocking to the comments, users were overjoyed by the mum's handy hack and were keen to give it a try - while others were concerned about "humiliation".
One eager TikToker user said: "Off to Primark for men's trainer socks it is then because it's a skating rink out there." A second added: "I've always done this. Always get the looks but I ain't the one sliding haha."
Whilst a third said: "I'm so on this... I live in Scotland and am petrified of slipping I've had few falls too.. So thanks." A fourth added: "Going to do this! Thank you! I recently slipped and broke my elbow so I have the absolute fear of falling again. This will help so much."
Meanwhile, a different user said: "My kids would be horrified if I did the school run like this let's go."
