A seven-day-old baby has been placed in protective custody after authorities found the newborn living with his parents in a makeshift tent beneath an Interstate 5 overpass in Yolo County, California.

Yolo County Sheriff's deputies responded on 9 September to a tip about a man and woman living with their newborn near County Road 19A, north of Woodland.
