A woman is fighting for her life after a horror three car crash in Fife which left three others in hospital. Emergency services were called to the scene on the westbound carriageway of the A92 on Sunday at around 1.45pm.
A black Mitsubishi Colt, a silver Suzuki Swift and red Citroen C4 collided near the slip road for the Lochgelly interchange - leaving debris scattered across the roadway.
A 28-year-old woman, who was behind the wheel of the Suzuki, was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries. Police Scotland say she is in a critical condition.
The driver of the Mitsubishi Colt, a 34-year-old woman, and her two female passengers, 32, were taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution.
No one else was injured with the road reopened at around 3.50pm. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision has now been launched.
Road Policing Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “We are appealing for anyone with information that could assist with our crash investigation to get in touch. In particular, if you have dash-cam footage then please contact us.”
