A woman has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman at a Stirling care home on Tuesday.
Kellyanne McNaughton, 32, made no plea or declaration at a hearing at Stirling Sheriff Court today.
McNaughton was charged with murdering Michelle Rutherford, 54, and also faced two further assault charges.
Michelle was badly injured during a reported ‘disturbance’ at Craighall Court in Stirling at around 11am on Tuesday. Michele is understood to have been the care home manager since 2013.
She was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment but sadly passed away a short time later. Two other women, aged 29 and 58, who are understood to be co-workers of Michelle, were also hurt during the incident.
Craighall Court, which is run by the Richmond Fellowship Programme, cares for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and mental health struggles.
McNaughton was remanded in custody and will appear in court again within the next eight days.
Detective Inspector Scott Roxburgh said: “Our thoughts very much remain with Michele’s loved ones at this time, along with everyone else involved in this incident.”
