A woman gave birth in the back of her car after getting stuck in traffic on a busy motorway. An unexpected call for assistance led to two police officers assisting with the delivery of the baby girl on the side of the M25 in Kent .
The mum-to-be went into labour on a slip road off the Darenth Interchange near Dartford, Kent, on Monday afternoon. The officers called to the scene found her about to give birth and called Sergeant Brett Barham, a trained police medic, for help.
Sgt Barham, of Kent Police, said: “When I arrived the baby girl had just been born into the hands of the officers, but due to the extreme traffic congestion in the area we felt that an ambulance would not be able to get to the scene quick enough to assist mum and baby.
