Woman gets scammed by a fake TikTok hair page after sending a deposit. Then receives a strange instruction to recover her money

Breshae Shay, who posts on TikTok as @breeshae1, shared a video that has gained tens of thousands of views in which she described being stood up after she sent a deposit for a hair appointment she found through the platform. She said she had looked at a stylist’s work on TikTok, exchanged messages about the style, price, colors, and time, and then sent $25 before driving an hour to the location.

In the TikTok video, Breshae explained that she usually does her own hair and had never booked an appointment before. She stated that the conversation “did not seem scamish at all” and felt like a regular exchange with a hairstylist. She added that she asked for the address first and decided to send the deposit because she “had some hope” the stylist would still show up.
