A woman has been found dead on a railway track in Ceredigion. On Wednesday afternoon, the British Transport Police were called to an incident near Aberystwyth after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The police force attended the incident alongside paramedics, and confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They are not treating the incident as suspicious.
In a statement released on Thursday morning, a spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Aberystwyth at 3.05pm on 7 June following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
