Hurricane Simon advanced towards part of Mexico’s Pacific coast on Friday and was expected to get much stronger, threatening the tourist destination Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco.
A hurricane warning for parts of the central and southwest coast was issued by US forecasters, with hurricane-force winds expected in said areas within 36 hours.
