A woman has been found dead after a house was destroyed in a gas explosion in Birmingham, West Midlands Fire Service said. It followed an incident at around 8.30pm on Sunday in Dulwich Road in Kingstanding.
The fire service tweeted this morning: "We’re very sad to confirm that a woman has been found dead at the scene of last night's explosion in #Kingstanding. Our thoughts and sympathies are with everyone affected."
One house was destroyed and several others were significantly damaged as well as nearby cars, West Midlands Police said last night. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said people at the scene rescued a man from the destroyed house but he had “very significant injuries” and was taken to hospital.
