A woman has admitted that she's 'appalled' after discovering a 'disgusting' used tissue the pocket of a jacket she ordered from clothing brand Very. Toni Mcrae opened her package excitedly to check out the garments she'd ordered, only to be met with the nasty surprise.
Toni - who boasts more than 4,500 followers on TikTok account @tonimcrea - shared a video on the popular video-streaming platform as she unpackaged the items on camera.
In the clip, which has surpassed a whopping 340,000 views to date, the woman explained: "I wanted to do an unpackaging of my Very order on TikTok to show everyone what I've got but I'm actually really really disgusted."
She went on: "I ordered two jackets which came in a bag and are fine. The first jacket is packaged nicely.
"The second one is a nice jacket don't get me wrong. I took it all out of the packaging and there was [returned packaging] screwed up inside of it.
"I thought, 'that's odd - I wonder what that's for'. It's obviously a returned package that they've opened, taken this jacket out of, shoved it back in there for some reason (I'm not really sure what the reason why is).
"What was interesting to me was the fact that the return slip was in there. The last customer who returned this has said, 'This jacket has been worn and sent back by a previous customer. It smells of perfume, it has brown hair on it, and has a used tissue and receipt in the pocket. It's disgusting'.
Picking up the jacket, Toni pointed out the items, and said: "I kid you not - there's a receipt, I'm not touching it but there's a used tissue in the pocket, brown hair on it, and it does smell of perfume!"
"That's bad enough that Very sent that to this customer with it obviously being worn and used quite clearly but not only that, they've taken it out of the packaging, clearly not taken notice, screwed it all up into a bag and sent it back out to me.
"That is actually appalling," she added.
Since sharing, Toni's video has raked in over 290 comments to date - with one person writing: "The fact it's been sent on like that TWICE!!"
Meanwhile, someone else said: "This happened to me with a dress from Very! It had makeup on the collar with the tags still on so obviously worn and returned! I was livid!"
Commenting on their return process, a spokesperson for Very told the Mirror: "We thoroughly inspect every item that is returned to us to assess whether it is suitable for resale. We contacted the customer in this case to apologise and provide a gesture of goodwill for their experience, which fell well below the high standards we set ourselves.
They added: "We have investigated this incident, which happened in February and was a case of human error. We have taken action to help ensure a similar mistake is avoided in future."
