The driver of the Corsa was not injured.

The road was closed for around seven hours while investigations were carried out, and now, road policing officers are appealing for information following the fatal crash.

Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone in the area with dash-cam or ring doorbell to check their footage and pass anything of note on to us.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2647 of November 9.
