A woman will face court accused of torture and neglect after a 10-year-old girl was admitted to hospital suffering from critical malnutrition with untreated injuries.

The 40-year-old from Logan Reserve, in Brisbane's south, was charged by police following an extensive investigation after the girl was admitted to Queensland Children's Hospital on February 9.
