Woman banned from nightclub after allegedly biting, kicking security guard

A 21-year-old woman allegedly bit a security guard on the arm while she was being removed from a popular Civic nightclub on Friday night.

Alicia Parlov faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, May 23, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, remaining in the vicinity of a premises, and abusing staff after they refused to supply her liquor.

She is yet to enter pleas to each charge.

About midnight on Friday, the woman was in a nightclub on London Circuit in Civic, understood to be popular nightspot Mooseheads, when staff refused to serve her more alcohol and told her to leave.

She allegedly refused and security escorted her out of the building.

While outside the venue, she allegedly kicked a security guard and then bit him on the arm.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested the 21-year-old, who was on a good behaviour order at the time.

In court, Parlov's defence lawyer applied for bail on her client's behalf, which the prosecutor did not oppose on the condition that she not enter Mooseheads.

Magistrate James Lawton granted bail after adding a further condition that she abstain from alcohol.

"I suspect that's what's getting you in trouble," he told her.

Her case will return to court at a later date.
