A woman in her 40s who was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Ballyfermot has been released without charge.
David Ennis, who was in his late 30s, died in the incident which happened at the Claddagh Court development for senior citizens in Ballyfermot. The woman had been quizzed at Clondalkin garda station but has now been released.
In a statement issued tonight, gardai confirmed the release and said that a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Dublin Live understands the pensioner who owns the property was in the apartment at the time of the stabbing on Tuesday.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an incident in Ballyfermot, Dublin on Tuesday 8th of November, 2022 have released the woman, aged in her late 40s, without charge this evening Wednesday 9th November, 2022. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations ongoing."
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later. His body was removed shortly before 11.30am after gardai from the Technical Bureau carried out an examination of the scene. Locals said drug users were regularly spotted in the complex.
Chairman of the Claddagh Court resident’s committee Mick White said there have been issues with anti-social behaviour in the complex for a while. He added: “I’ve reported it to Dublin City Council for the last three years. They haven’t done a thing about it. They were told at the last meeting this would happen."
