A helicopter was pictured arriving at the incident earlier on, as motorists faced lengthy tailbacks.

The woman's condition is currently unknown. Officers currently remain at the scene as they carry out ongoing enquiries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of two vehicles which had come off the A832 near Achanalt around 9.30am on Tuesday, December 20. One woman has been taken to hospital by air ambulance and officers remain at the scene."
